1 is the best I reckon. I finally beat it a few months ago and beat it with no game overs recently. Now I'm trying to beat it without dying but it's pretty hard because one tiny mistake and it's over, usually I just mess up a jump or something. It's pretty short, only like 15 minutes when you know what to do, which is good when you're replaying it a lot.

The only complaint I have about these games is the auto-sticking to walls. if they didnt have it the game would be 10/10.

I also think 1 is the best, same for Castlevania regarding the first 3 games.
Sometimes simplicity just wins over gimmicks.

1 is the best. 3 has incredible graphics, really jaw dropping for the NES but limited continues which ruins the game.
