the 3D effects alone makes NHL Stanley Cup (the video game) feel like the Star Fox equivalent of sports games with such impressive graphics like that

two best players in NHL Stanley Cup the video game are Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Wayne Gretzky of the Los Angeles Kings just because they have the easiest time scoring goals than the other players

NHL Stanley Cup only uses the stock SNES with no additional DPS-1 or SA-1 chips. it was neat for the time. But I could never play it for long periods of time. There are also a few NBA Basketball games on the SNE that use the same Mode 7 effects.

NCAA was also developed by Sculptured Software as well.
