I downloaded Demon Siege years ago, got to the woman section with the gun and quit after like twenty minutes, never booting the game up again. It was so damn boring and took forever to kill things as the girl.

When I read an interview that said Onimusha was supposed to be for Japanese demon/ghost horror what Resident Evil/Castlevania were for western monster horror it all made sense to me why the game was dreadfully boring and not remotely scary to me, a western person.

You forgot the retarded companion/item system and the way auto aiming often fucks with you and targets enemies that are in your back, further away than the closest enemy in the front, which never happened in the original.

Onimusha 2 is a disaster but at least Onimusha 3 is great.

Skip to Onimusha 3, that one is great. It improves on the crit system of the first game with chain critting and it feels pretty awesome once you master it.
Make sure to check out Genma Onimusha also if you haven't

It's superior in every way. More polished gameplay. More modes. More replayability and secrets. It's literally the perfect sequel. And you actually play as a Oni warrior not a cosplayers like in 1 and 3.
