I guess the movie absorbed every little bit of soul they had to offer.
I watched the sequel in theaters. And then gave up on the series.

1998-1998 I would say it was a combination of the Matrix, Titanic (it was huge on DVD), and Austin Powers (and its' sequels).

It was so based they forced the directors to troon out as an apology.

Anyone remember the MMO? I tried it not sure if my computer just couldn’t handle it or it was just the jankiest shit I’ve ever played.

Yea, but it made it so much easier to watch porn on your tv in your room. PS3 peaked for media consumption from a console.

The PlayStation 2 was released in the USA on October 26, 2000.
The Matrix was released on DVD on September 21, 1999.
It was already out. People were sick of trying to watch movies like the Matrix on VHS.

VHS didn't provide enough clarity and detail for what The Matrix had to offer. I'm not saying VHS is terrible and DVD is superior for everything.

Shitga fans really want people to hate the PS2 because it had a DVD player and backwards compatibility, like those are supposed to be bad things, somehow. It's bizarre.

Even in 2000, the Matrix was an obvious 'go-to' for people who were purchasing their first DVD player. It was a quintessential DVD rental. Austin Powers (The original and Spy Who Shagged me), Titanic, Scream 1 and 2, Toy Story 2, The Lost World, probably Charlies Angles (That was more 2001).

It wasn't an influence on getting a ps2 but the Matrix was one of the 1st dvds we got even though we already saw it.
