You mean lightgun games? Never been a big fan of them, probably because I never had a lightgun, but when I played Time Crisis demo on the PS1 it seemed pretty cool. I guess it's just a Virtua Cop clone tho. Namco really liked copying Sega

Not all of them are light guns. Some are joysticks that pretend to be light guns, and there's also the newer Wii type pointer guns

I went to a resort once and they had a Virtua Cop cabinet that the arcade operator had put on the easiest setting and had the max lives per credit (it was only a quarter per credit too). I would put in two quarters and play with both guns John Woo style.
Also, LUCKY AND WILD is a great game. A combo driving and shooting game. Fantastic fucking game.
The shooter I probably played the most was Revolution X. It was loud, it was violent, it had secrets, it had tits. It was cool. It's also the last arcade game I remember seeing EVERYWHERE before they started to phase them out of grocery stores and gas stations.

Thereโ€™s a very small number of guys out there still doing this, like Kid Fenris but for the most part its just a relic of Web 1.0

that game is very easy to emulate because the guns are just joysticks, so it's plays well with any standard controller

it's a very scummy coin muncher, but not as scummy as the diddlers who call themselves Aerosmith

There was this one website I remember, late 90s or very early 2000s, run by spesshulboye or something like that. I can't remember the proper stupid spelling, so for the life of me I can't find it again, though I doubt it was archived. It was another of those "review games and stuff from the 80s" type sites, but clearly one of the lesser known ones. It had some of those website buttons, notably one that said "I love my wife's tits" or similar.

Yeah Revolution X is nice for the cheese and the boobs and butts, but gameplay wise it gets pretty boring, especially when you realize that it is impossible to beat without resorting to some amount of credit feeding. I'm not sure what the minimum number of credits is required to beat it, but apparently it is literally impossible for a normal human player to 1CC, similar to their T2 game.

Did you play on the Deluxe arcade cabinet? It's an extremely rare arcade cabinet. Only a handful still exist in the entire world.

NTA, but I feel like I played it on something like that, the one time I played it. Either that, or I watched somebody else play, or maybe I just watched the attract mode. This would've been probably in the mid-late 90s, so my memory is vague.

Who said that?

It was a decently selling arcade game for about a year or two. But the huge Crypt Killer deluxe cabinet was rare and didn't sell many units. It was expensive and large.

The smaller arcade cabinets sold much more.

Everyone knows about the gold standards that are Time Crisis II and House of the Dead II

But I would like to bring up Rail Chase 2, only because it's intro and opening track are fucking awesome.
https://youtu.be/lEU6G7GTwIk

Technically it isn't a light gun game because it uses a joystick (not a mounted swivel gun like in T2 Arcade or Alien3 the Gun, an honest to god regular joystick like Star Wars Trilogy) but I still think it's neat. Perhaps in the modern age of couples shooters, Rail Chase 3 may see the light of day.
