I'm going to commission an artist to create a banner for my game store. I'm taking a big huge retarded risk with this because the startup is from my inheritance and my current stock is just my collection.

I thought of doing an Adventure of Link style thing, but it just feels played out.

What kind of game reference would make you want to come in a game store if you saw it on a sign?

I know where you're coming from and I get it, but I want games in the hands of players. I know what I have, and what it's worth, and it's not what the current bubble market thinks it is. I want my local community to be able to come to my store, look at a shelf, and realize they can walk out with a handful of NES games. The goal is to be a store, not a musuem where people come in, take one look at the prices, scoff, and leave. I fucking hate those kinds of stores.

Put a picture of Morshu, the shop keeper from Link: Faces of Evil, pointing at the name of your store. Beneath the store name, have a slogan like "Consoles? Games? Accessories? It's yours, my friend."

Just put up an animated LCD sign with random Mai Shiranui gifs playing on it

Don't sell your games. Just let people rent your consoles to play in store for an hour at a time. Set it up for birthdays and events, have a few arcade machines, concessions, merch(funkopop, cards, fidget stuff, stuffed animals, etc..) a few claw machines filled with cheap retro game merch from temu or someshit. Buy a shit ton of cheap DVDs and CDs and setup an area where people can watch movies and listen to music, have a coffee and popcorn Machine on top of a concession stand with pizza and hotdogs and mozzarella sticks, etc... DO NOT SELL YOUR GAMES AND CONSOLES. You'll regret the fuck out of it when in ten years loose Madden 92 carts go for 50 bucks.
