Played better as an actual game, but I always preferred how batshit insane DBTS was. Draconus was a bit less jank but lost what made it unique in the process. Both games are worth playing though.

Its absolutely garbage to play but its the most kino garbage ever made. Getting used to the awkward controls also becomes oddly satisfying once you get good at targeting specific limbs while trying not to get chunked. Amazed nobody tried making one for the Wii, then again, they'd have to take the team out of the CoD mines. Treyarch and Raven really deserved better.

You have complete control over your sword arm, with the default being the numpad for directions. So if you held 9 and then 1, you would slash downward to the left diagonally. You could instead awkwardly use the mouse and there was a weird ass "simple" mode that used like half the keyboard somehow, but it was certainly a unique approach to swordplay for... what, 97?
It also had shit like body parts having health and both rending and dismemberment on each part which would affect shit like movement if your leg got fucked, so most fights turned into some monty python tier shit. Its fucking badass.

This game caught my eye a while back because it reminded me of Nightmare Creatures and Severance, but now you just convinced me to check it out

I played this randomly a couple months ago since I have the entire DC library downloaded and I actually really liked it. The way the movement controls is really cool, its like what walking on a trampoline feels like but put into a video game. It probably wasn't supposed to be like that but it's unique and somehow not completely dogshit despite how it might sound. You can actually do some crazy stuff when you integrate the unique movement system with the combat and it becomes a really fun first person almost Zelda like game. My only gripe is the level design just isn't great, you just scour these pretty large individual levels for keys or other items that just act as a key and you really never get a good sense of where you're going or what you're supposed to be looking for. You also have to make manual quick saves like a PC game despite this game being a Dreamcast exclusive, makes me think it probably was a PC game first before that version was cancelled.

Not the best game ever but I had a pretty good time with it and have never heard anyone talk about it before, not even Dreamcast fans. I think it deserves some more recognition.
