I understand that the later home console copies didn't have Charles Barkley on the Phoenix Suns because Acclaim lost the rights to his name and likeness to Accolade (the makers of Barkley Shut Up & Jam)
Cedric Ceballos would've been a better choice to replace Charles Barkley on the Suns roster for the later copies instead of Dan Majerle.
thus, Phoenix still would've had a guard-forward duo instead of a two guard duo.
>>11862995 (OP)Whoa the mayor of Sacramento was in a video game?!
Didn't even later home ones have multi choices on the rosters?
Even with out MJ himself, Bulls were insane, I liked the Cavs in that game despite not being my home team.
>>11863425yep. Kevin Johnson for some reason got Barkley's stat levels when Barkley was replaced with Majerle, while Dan Majerle got Johnson's original stat levels from earlier copies.
replacing Barkley with Danny Ainge would've just made Phoenix a two guard duo just like with Majerle, so replacing him with Ceballos instead of Majerle or Ainge would've still given Phoenix a guard-forward duo even without Barkley.
>>11863659I actually didn't know that, balancing issue.
I remember having a very spooky experience back in 1997 when playing this at 2 AM on my SNES. I remember finishing the big championship, trying to unlock the ???? to the right of the Sacramento Kings, and all of a sudden a lot of weird players start to appear in the roster. Their photographs were completely different from the rest and they had no names but maxed stats. I felt like I was watching a movie and the actors started talking to me. After some more matches, I saw Bill Clinton and some other bigwig (forgot who), and that was my first time seeing a cameo in a video game. A wild ride for a 7-year old.
So is there a best team that gives you an advantage against the cheating cpu over everyone else?
>>11862995 (OP)>I understand that the later home console copies didn't have Charles Barkley on the Phoenix Suns because Acclaim lost the rights to his name and likenessThat was the cover story. The real reason was that a perceptive manager at Acclaim saw in him the potential to perform a Chaos Dunk and wished to distance the company as much as possible from the inevitable coming disaster.
