GameGear - Never got into it. Not saying it's bad. No games I played on it ever really captured me.

Wonderswan - Flash Koibito Kun, Street Dancer, Mr Driller

NGP - Cotton, Metal Slug, Ganbare Neo Poke Kun

Haven't played much of any and not for awhile.

NGP - Only know Sonic
Wonderswan - The Klonoa game is good. A puzzle platformer like the GBA games.
GG - There are a few exclusive Sonic games like Triple Trouble that are ok. GG Aleste. And I also like the Kishin Douji Zenki game.

Starting up on Klonoa now, I've already played the GBA/PSX (and Wii) ones and I had no idea there was another one

Sonic Pocket Adventure onj NGPC. A shout out to Faselei! too, developed by the same team (Sacnoth) that brought us Koudelka & Shadow Hearts. Special mention to: Ogre Battle Gaiden for NGPC.

I didn't have a Neo Geo Pocket Color, man I haven't touched one in my entire life but I emulated it a lot on Xperia Play during my high-school years. Neo Geo Pocket deserves better, is a great console with, perhaps a tiny but strong catalog, it has several games that are worth to be played.

I have played the Game Gear, but back when I was a kid and let's be real, the Game Boy Color with Pokรฉmon Yellow was a nuke; couldn't care less about Sega GG. I'm not Japanese, I haven't touched a WonderSwan, I haven't even emulated it and perhaps I will not.

Great thread. Bump.

Here's a list of Game Gear games I thought were notable for one reason or another

Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S
Coca-Cola Kid
Crystal Warriors
Defenders of Oasis
Devilish
Dragon Crystal
Eternal Legend
Fantasy Zone Gear
Fray
GG Aleste 1, 2, and 3
GG Shinobi 1 and 2
Godzilla: Kaijuu no Daishingeki
Griffin
Head Buster
Kishin Douji Zenki
Lunar: Sanposuru Gakuen
Magical Puzzle Popils
Megami Tensei Gaiden Last Bible
Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special
Moldorian
Ninja Gaiden
Panzer Dragoon Mini
Phantasy Star Adventures
Phantasy Star Gaiden
Pop Breaker
Ristar
Royal Stone
Shining Force Gaiden
Shining Force - The Sword of Hajya
Shining Force Final Conflict
Sonic Triple Trouble
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Drift 1 and 2
Sylvan Tale
Tails Advenure
Tail's Skypatrol
Tempo Jr
Wagan Land
YuYu Hakusho (the first, not the other one)

I never compiled a NGPC list since I feel like it's more obvious, but it's a very good and unique library imo. Wonderswan seems awesome, but I need more stuff to be translated before I make any real judgements.

I'm liking Klonoa a lot though overall it's easier than I remember the GBA games to be, though that makes sense since it came out first
Nice graphics especially those parralaxed backgrounds

The first one is a good, fairly traditional JRPG like you might expect. Special is a first-person DRPG. It seemed cool from what I played, but I never finished it (or got far at all, for that matter) because the emulator I was using to play a build of the fan translation kept crashing and I just sorta forgot about it.

I'm emulating Neo Geo Pocket Sonic, a Sega game on an SNK handheld, on my Windows PC using a Nintendo NES pad.

I think that's what they mean by inclusive diversity.

How's the Wonderswan version of FF4? Any differences?

For that matter anybody played the translations for FF1/2/4? They seem to be unfinished

Mega Man had it so bad on Wonderswan.

I want to like this game, it's like a classic Mega Man but with Battle Network style, but I just can't. There are so many things that are off it's impossible to like it
>disappearing platforms but there is no rythm to it
>bosses are either braindead or erratic and takes perfect precision and speed and leave almost no room to fight back
>one time use chips might as well not exist
>lot's of death traps you couldn't see coming
>ladders that are hard to grab unless you're right in the middle and of course sometimes they're above pits
>can't jump out of a slide
>lot's of pixel perfect jumps around OHKO things

The way the game handles multi path/stage selection is also kind of shitty. For erratic bosses I just use the sword, spam and tank hits, and come out winning.

And don't get me started on &Bass

Digimon version wonderswan is my favorite game on the system. But it's only good if you like V-pets. Digimon battle spirits is also good, for some reason I never liked the GBA ports.

Give Cotton a try on the NGPC. It is very close to the original given its cut down resolution can system capabilities. It plays just as well as the Arcade/X68000/PCE version and stands as one of my favorites on the NGPC.

Gearsystem iirc. So actually a core in Retroarch. In reality, I'm pretty sure the issue was just using runahead with that core on certain games. I had issues with the text in Lunar: Sanposuru Gakuen
and Shining Force Final Conflict in that core, but when I turned off the runahead they were fine.
