TR: Anniversary feels just as tricky and platforming dependent as the original/remastered. I missed so many jumps in Greece. I'm on the second Egypt level now and like it a lot.

there is no reason to play TR1 when Anniversary exists, in fact there is no reason to play any of the pre-Legends TR games except maybe Last Revelation
if your want the 90's retro TR experience then just play Last Revelation and move on to the better late games

The Egypt levels really knock the wind out of your sails in this game, holy shit. How bad is Atlantis? This is like the Tomb Raider equivalent of Maridia.

I played it years ago and i thought it was fine. I did get stuck on one of the egypt levels for awhile. but i noticed that they changed her personality. when she kills larson she seems digusted and remorseful but in the original she didn't hesitate to kill anyone and didn't care at all.

I think the first reboot Lara is mostly seeking knowledge and adventure. She fucks people up if she has to but doesn't like doing it.

When folk say TR Legend, Underworld or Anniversary are "modernized garbage", "too easy" or "casual" it usually means they played these games through trial and error, thinking it was the only gameplay experience. You're not supposed to get Lara constantly killed in order to make progress.
