you will play the warrior, right?

The 1 frame flail spin is waiting for you...you aren't going to get waylaid by promises of ass or arcane power, right anon?

I beat this game 25 times as the wizard as a kid since the wizard was the easiest dumbest campy-happy to play with ... 25 years later did I realize I made a mistake when I played the ROM version and I noticed how much more powerful the huntress and warrior's attacks were simply 1 shotting everything and reducing boss fights to 25% of the usual time I spent dealing with the bosses as the wizard.

Also wtf was the flail spin supposed to do? I don't know all this game's secrets & easter eggs, I only "recently" 7 years ago discovered it actually had a stage select zone.

This game just like Verytex has some beautiful graphics & audio with some decent strategic mechanics, but it has the same problems with being too zoomed in and there being too few levels and overall not as great gameplay wise as other games. My parents got me only the prettiest Genesis games like Gunstar Heroes. They picked them mostly on how they looked.

The flail spin is a frame one attack. Its only other use is hitting slightly above you. By simply taking tiny steps and constantly using it, you can spam it to your heart's content and blend enemies into oblivion.

Not worth it against regular dudes, just use normal attacks. cancel them by moving if you really want more dps, but enemies will die in a few hits anyway.

But against bosses, pop the invincibility potion and you'll turn them into shreds, no exceptions.

This game has the weirdest level order possible.

>Oh let's start off with the lava level that's filled with lava pools you can fall into, no problem, at least it's easy.
>2nd level is stretched into 3 parts that takes 3x as long as the first level and has an annoying teleport boss that can kick your ass if you're not careful, tons of pitfalls. Boring atmospheric music compared to the 1st level.
>3rd level is a piece of cake with beautiful backgrounds and foregrounds and barely lasts 50% of the first level and the boss is piss easy. Banging music too.
>stage 4 - lol .... i'm gonna get back to you
>stage 5 - holy shit another tower level that's piss easy, well.. this one is slightly harder, same exact banging music too.
>stage 4 - HAHAHHA you think Hell was bad? Bro welcome to the torture chamber, this fucking level would be sent directly to level 7 or 8 or even replaced with the final level. This level is a labyrinthos zone full of trap rooms where you hope to god you bought the keys during the menu select screen to skip some of the elevator rooms. This level will spit you back and kill you. It even has 1 vampire enemy only for this level that can 2shot kill you. If you didn't buy the armour for this level then restart the game. This is a fucking horror level. The music even matches to it. And the boss of this level? We heard you like big titty salamanders & TMNT bro. We heard you like Raphaello, bro. If you don't have at least 8 invincibility potions for this boss then quit cause you cannot dodge this creature, don't even attempt the invisibility potion unless you want to die faster. Only level potentially harder than this depending where you stand on is the jungle level that honestly kicked my ass harder than the final level.

I don't know anything about this game but you can't even conceive of how quickly my cursor or whatever will move onto the portrait of the lady in the character selection menu or whatever it is the game gives you (I haven't played it so I don't know)

okay, but the maze is really fucking cool and the lizard dude dies if you know how to play at all.

warrior? do what was said above and shred him in 1-2 potions max, no more.

wizard? charge attack damage is ridiculous. use a potion for it if you need to, but you'll laugh at how fast it kills him.

huntress? okay you're kinda boned ngl, but that's what you get for picking waifus

Those fucking grim reapers in level 2, jesus christ. But they're nothing compared to the salamanders and soldiers in level 4.
The grim reapers are as easy as the werewolves.

Was the invisibility potion good for anything else but the final boss? I'm impressed I even managed to figure out the final boss is weak against it.
But I used to farm the pre-final level for HP, Invin & Invis potions , I ended up getting 99 in each before I even bothered considering going to the final level. I can't remember if also got a scroll, firework or ring. There's this 1 repeatable area in level 7 I think which you can repeat ad infinitum and it gives a really good amount of items which normally are rare as hell, normally you can't do respawning rooms and even then the respawning enemies won't give you anything normally.

All i needed for the final boss was 2 invincibility pots and a few healies as usual. never felt the need to farm anything. the boss before it was genuinely more annoying.

I still come back to BoV, Gunstar Heroes & Verytex's soundtracks, sometimes Aladdin & Jungle Book. I don't understand what SNES fags complained about Genesis sounding bad but that's because I had nothing but the Crème de la crème in terms of graphics and audio. Gameplay is questionable, but most of the Disney Genesis IPs beat the shit out of the SNES ones. My parents couldn't afford to buy stinkers and they also had great taste in games. My game library consisted of graphics & audio with decent gameplay, mostly licensed IPs like TMNT and a bunch of experimental games that didn't quite hit the mark like Alex Kidd, Kid Chameleon, Outlander, etc.

This is one of the weirder coop games to me of that era. I feel like games only work like this with an arcade or widescreen resolution.
