cricket is too strongly associated with bluebloods, that's why it died. since the 1960s there's been a major movement of reverse classism in the UK (really the West in general) where people desperately try and posture being as low class as possible. Soccer is the sport of the impoverished masses, so it exploded in popularity, whereas Cricket is for aristocrats so it died. rugby went through the same thing, at least Union. modern League was created specifically to counteract that cultural tendency.

Street Cricket 2 is very good game. Gully feels, smashing balls, but AI little stupid. Please try, very fun, like real street match. For me it is a must play in PS2
