im not saying the final level shouldve been easier, more that the preceding levels shouldve been harder. games with a good difficulty curve generally train the player on easier obstacles first, then make them slightly harder over time until it culminates in a final test of the players skill. klonoa 2 does this

This game was directed by the same guy who did Ninja Gaiden on the NES (yes this is true you can look it up) so that is to be expected, that game also truly begins during Act 6
