Metroid Fusion, Zelda Minish Cap, Advance Wars, F-Zero, Megaman Battle Network, Golden Sun….

But sure, there were a lot of ports. Which now in 2025 I don’t mind because those games have aged beautifully and now there’s multiple ways to play them

Bitches don't know what it was like having Super Mario World or DKC on the go in an era before your phone could be used as a portable SNES. Such a great feeling.

Yeah this was retarded, fully. What was that one game that had those mini retro NES titles (fake games) and you could even look up tips in magazines? I had forgotten about those until now but I LOVED those things. We need a remake of that.

Not to mention some of them were redundant. Metroid Zero Mission which included the original Metroid was already out and there were multiple ways of playing Pac-Man on the GBA as well

Retro game challenge. Love that little game. Zoomers think Ufo30 is a new concept, but it rips off Retro Game Challenge as hard as possible.

Tbf the version on metroid zero mission had gnarly lag because it was an early attempt at emulation. The classic nes series are actual ports. But I get what you're saying. For twenty bucks might as well pony up 10 more and get zero mission.

So you love modern consoles?
Most of the ports on GBA weren't a decade old even.

Man that thing is awesome. What I think UFO missed is we needed a meta around the games. Like, I would be cool if the ‘games’ came out one at a time with an in-game magazine showing previews and eventually tips and codes.

I haven’t played UFO, so apologies if it does have that.

I don't like any of the GBA ports in particular but I love that they exist and there are alternative ways of replaying games I like with new things to see.
It's like a song you enjoy but recorded live.

I got Castlevania and Xevious, two nes carts i didn't have at the time, so was neat for that atleast.

The cool ones were the Famicom disk system releases that compiled both disks into one cart for the 3 adventure games. I wish Yuuki got one and the very unlikely Time Twist.

I also like the SD Gachapon Wars one.

I would have normally agreed but every time someone on here talks about the GBA I can't shake the image of a kid playing shitty ports of Mario games or some dreadful licensed game with the worst pre-rendered graphics you've ever seen while his parents duked it out in divorce court.

Same, but anything you have to buy again needs to have a little extra to be justified. For instance, I passed on Capcom Collection because they're literal roms with a price tag, and yet I pre-ordered Tomb Raider IV-VI Physical because you can toggle the remastered graphics at the push of a button. Even Yu-Gi-Oh Darly Days threw in a rare card and a rewind feature.

Forgot to say Tomb Raider also fixed the atrocious controls of the early games. And if you don't like the improved controls you can always turn them off. Like in Early Days, you have save states and no obligation to use them.

Nintendo would never, ever do something like that these days.
