I was playing my OG Xbox and I noticed that the screen started glitching out of nowhere. At first I thought it was just my cables or maybe my capture card crapping me, but only the Xbox is fucking up. I'm starting to think its the caps finally dying. Some games have little to no glitches while others are really bad. All I want is an definitive answer if its the caps or not so that I can get that fixed along with finally getting a Stellar XboxHD+ installed while I'm inside.

Can't say for sure, but I have a 1.6 xbox that one day didn't want to start, I do not believe much in the LE CAPS ARE GOING TO DIE ANY MOMENT thing people always go on about BUT the power supply caps were dead, I replaced them and it works now. So the logical choice would be to check if any look bad. And while it's not so likely, check if the discs are still good

OP check if your xbox is a 1.6, seeing an 04/05 mfg date is a good way to verify it. Despite what >>11866846 recaps on 1.6 xboxes are become pretty necessary. I see plenty with bulging caps these days, and it's always the CPU caps and occasionally the GPU caps. This is useful for you because the problem you're having is obviously graphical.

Its a 1.6. The main reason for why I was asking if its a cap problem was because I opened it up when I first noticed the visual glitching and all of the caps "looked" fine. Granted, I am not familiar at all when it comes to what a good or bad cap looks like, but I didn't any leakage or bloat.
Either way, after 20 years, I think its be best if I re-capped it just to be on the safe side.
