Because Sunsoft's head music guy starting around 1985-6 was Naoki Kodaka, who was an actual trained composer who majored in composing music at college.

It sells the game, I'm really sick of room temp IQ people who exclaim "WOW this has NO REASON to go this hard!!!!!", the people making the music do have a reason to go that hard.
