These aren't very good are they? Every batch I've purchased needed the cog holes expanded, the range is subpar and the entire internet is telling me "bro it's as good as an almost perfect stick" What? I've had better experience with floppier old sticks than these. Every time I test with mimi controller test they yield extremely weak results. Best I can say about them is they seem to retain the granularity that the garbage chinese drop ins don't.

Anyway, what are you fixing lately?

change the gears and the bowl, keep the of stick.
i repaired a couple n64 sticks and the bowls were ok, so i just bought gears and while they don't feel like new, they have full range now and feel great.

>of stick
OG stick.
forgot to add. add some lubricating agent, ballbearing grease or something.
i used vaseline because it is what i had at hand at the time, the sticks are still working good with no sign of wear yet.

They're not great but most people don't care and are just happy that it works. The alternative is spending a couple of hundred on metal parts for a perfect experience, or grabbing one of those 8bitdo stick boxes which are mostly good but also have problems that are best to ignore for peace of mind. If you just want to play on an n64 and stumbled into the limp dick analog stick problem, I think these kitsch bent parts are a reasonable option.

From 1 to 10, how hard is it to repair a torn Gameboy DMG screen ribbon cable?
And what about a GBA SP CPU that I removed using a heatgun and now I have 2 or 3 broken pins and quite a few lifted pads'

depends on your equipment and skills.
if you have a microscope or very good sight and good equipment, 7. 9 if not.

Ugh, my Game Boy Light has screen cancer. The LCD display leaked, it needs replaced now. I know it can be repaired by harvesting a screen from a Game Boy Pocket but honestly I don't really feel like doing it since I usually play from an Analogue Pocket these days but I feel kinda bad if I leave it like this. I might just sell it... Would that be a sin?

For the longest time I thought my Xbox was broken, only to recently discover that it was just the IDE to SATA adapter crapping out. I put the original IDE drive back in and it just werks. I should be happy about that, but I already bought another Xbox to replace it a few years back. Even sprung for a custom paint job to make it Mountain Dew green.
What sucks is that this new one also stopped working recently. I already determined it's a broken PSU, so I was going to cannibalize my original for parts to fix it (they're both v1.6) when I made that discovery. Now I don't know what I should do with this second one.

The only part that I don't like is the stick, it's flat on the top instead of sloping down at each of the rings. Gear and bowl are fine otherwise, just lube it up with white lithium grease.

i feel you.
one day my gb light screen decided to die. as they could still be found at a reasonable price at the time from japanese sellers on ebay, i bought another one that was in rough shape but with a working screen and replaced it. sometime later it crapped out too.
ultimately i bought a biverted dmg and decided that installing an ips screen kit on the gb light was better to revive it.
it is not the same, but at least it's not gonna die any moment and i can change the color palette.
i even made a spreadsheet with the palettes i dialed so i can replicate the results if i accidentally reset the settings.
i would post it but 4chan says it's spam.

I also considered installing an IPS kit or something. I would like to keep it around I just don't feel like doing that shit with the screen filters etc. Also I'd have to kill a working GBP to do it.

Typical rule is if it's purpose part and it's that cheap then it'll do the very bare minimum needed for the job at best. Not to say that paying more means you'll get something better but it's pretty much guranteed to do just enough to qualify as the part it claims to be. At. Best. The stick will move and the n64 will realize the stick is moving, at least for a bit.

I got 2 white psxs.
One doesn't turn one while the other turns but the AV port seems fucked since I get almost no signal on the TV.
The cable works on my ps2 and grey ps1.
Would it be easy to use the av port of the ps1 that doesn't turn on as a replacement?

I pulled out a new 3DS XL which was never used, when I turned it on the selector was going down in the main menu as if there is something stuck in the Down D-pad. I replaced the C-stick, the D-pad and the left analog from another unit and the issue still there.
Any more ideas?? Should I look at the motherboard itself and search for a bad soldering??? Is there a chart about the motherboard detailing each function and where it located?

although i'd like a new controller, getting it NIB but that's a hefty sink for what it is.

just give it a good clean. inside too.
i bet it's just dirt and if is not, you probably just need to reflow the solder joints of the port.

Are the chink shells for the AMOLED GBC screen supposed to NOT fit well together? I even order another one from the HISPEEDIDO official store and it still doesn't close as well as the OG, even when it's empty. Even the power LED isn't properly alligned with the hole.

S-video looks great on ps1 (assuming CRT). I got a new old stock third party cable because the official ones are too expensive. I see no need for rgbs unless your tv already has it. If anything rgbs might be too sharp.

For the past few years the process has been more of a "join the toastyx discord server and wait for a drop to be announced" situation. The speed running community has their own little economy for this stuff and there's never too much of a wait in between a batch. There are actually bowls available as we speak, it appears.

i still vote against it because delaminating the screen is difficult. you can try with your defective screen and see if you can pull it off.

why buy perfectly good original hardware and ruin it with a modern screen that looks worse? If you do a direct side by side comparison it's a huge downgrade in a lot of ways. You should have just bought a modern handheld and emulated. You are a faggot.
