Emulators are a sensible option for most people, and they even come with a number of perks. Free games, easy modding through romhacks, higher resolutions for 3D consoles, sharp pixels for 2D if you're into that, no physical storage space needed for consoles, games, or accessories, no need to maintain aging hardware or buy overpriced peripherals...
