The fundraiser is for them to be purchased and dumped. That said this price is absolutely retarded, and the whole thing would have had better results if they'd targeted specific carts as opposed to trying to meet some ridiculous goal to buy everything, which if the usual way protos go is upheld, will probably be 70%+ "crap" like final builds or localizations that haven't been proofread or whatever the fuck, with only a handful being anything that anybody will bother to investigate. A small group of collectors could've obtained anything worth obtaining without having to resort to huge public fundraisers, but I guess that's part of the point, turn "preservation" into some stupid overpriced theatrics which require a "museum" or "society" or "circlejerk" in order to afford anything or work out any deals
