Does anyone else prefer playing with original controllers on official hardware? Especially older controllers that are starting to get kind of crusty and the buttons start to feel a bit mushy or loose, or maybe the sticks drift a little. As a poor kid growing up, replacement controllers were few and far between, so using an old, trashy piece of shit feels more authentic on my 9" B&W eye cancer CRT.

I can do original hardware + aftermarket pad or emulation + original (style) controller. I need at least one or the other to be the real deal, but not both necessarily

I mostly grew with the dualshock but the OG one isnt bad.
Feels like the OG one is a better transition control for kids going from Snes to ps1.

I use an NES pad and an OG PSX pad (non dualshock) for most emulation. I also have a PS2 pad but for some reasons it has noticeable input lag compared to the PSX pad using the same adaptor; besides none of my pads had good analog so I recently bought an X360 pad for anything that requires analog also though I need to repair the drift on the analogs.
