This is clearly the first dev interview you've ever read/seen if you think he was being sarcastic.

As a random example go watch the ars technica interviews on youtube. Almost every single one of them (all but one) are like this and the guy is trying to pretend like
>This super common thing that was a standard for everyone? Yeah, we created this.

Also I've worked on a game and I could literally see the ego grow bigger on some of my coworkers the moment it was released.

Yes
They've also added "slippery" physics for no reason, so you add previous issue to this issue and get a complete clusterfuck during High Road and Road to Nowhere levels.

>The first Jak and Daxter was heavily influenced by games like Mario 64, and was quite twee and colourful in relation to Jak II. Mario Sunshine, a game in the traditional twee style, performed below expectations - did that have any impact on the direction you were taking Jak II in?

>Rubin: It definitely redoubled my belief that you have to push the genre forward, because when I put that game in and expected Miyamoto greatness, and the characters came out saying: "Bloop! Bloop! Bloop!" I was like, that is 1997. I don't need that in 2003.
>Give me a character with a voice and a personality, and more of a cinematic experience. Don't give me Mario from 15 years ago. They just haven't moved on; that's not their focus. I think its very hard for Miyamoto to both run Nintendo - which he does to a certain extent - and get into the game design.

Crash 1 DOES have variable jumps just like the original though. The physics aren't worse, just feel different, honestly I prefer N.Sane when you get used to it.

No idea why he made this insane rant, but it's par for the course for LinkedIn, I feel like that blatantly wrong jab about N.Sane just kinda rolled out so he could blab about how he... invented variable jumps...? Very odd post, but normal by LinkedIn standards.

>pretend they never contributed anything and takes all credit with Andy
Jason was nothing more than a glorified project manager and while Andy was a programmer; they would never deliver anything if it wasnโ€™t for Siller and Zembelas. It really doesnโ€™t help that Sony helped memory hole that one with Cernyโ€™s incomprehensible game design documents and take where he also believes he made crash popular with later iterations in Twisted.

Why donโ€™t we instead talk about how the original two got shafted and why? Or are they not adult enough to tackle that problem?
