You have no ability to comprehend this at all, no cultural context with which to even begin parsing this, but back in the 90s every six was a major upheavel and quantum leap of the games industry. The difference between 1993 and 1999 may as well be the difference between the middle ages and the 20th century.
It's truly sad that there are underaged kids who didn't get to experience it and will never know what it felt like to witness the video game equivalent of the Moon Landing every couple months. They'll never know what it was like to be full of joy and expectations and confidence your entire life.
