Never played it when it was new. I really don’t like the real time with pause thing and wish it played more like fallout 1&2

Play the original version, the EE is not original Baldur's Gate, it's Baldur's Gate 2 with the original campaign patched in. It is not the same thing and is in fact significantly worse.
