anyway been playing shadow of rome and it's way better except the stealth shit. wish i started on hard instead of normal though, not sure i want to beat the game 3 times for each difficulty

It's canon but neither 2 nor 3 ever get referenced in the Nier games if you care about that. The timeline is also somewhat convoluted, I'd even say that 2 is 'more canon' than 3 because literally not a single ending in 3 connects to the rest of the series. But most importantly 3 is a fucking dogshit game that runs like absolute ass on console and I genuinely think that 2 is much better in every aspect imaginable except for the soundtrack maybe. I mean when it comes to its story it's still written by Sawako Natori just like the rest of the series except Automata. Moreover the character designs and art were done by Kimihiko Fujisaka, just like in 1 and 3 so all facts considered it doesn't feel like some Devil May Cry 2 tier knockoff. The only outright bad part of Drakengard 2 is that to get all three endings you have to play through the game three times and believe me this shit is 100 times more tedious and boring than collecting weapons. But if you aren't autistic like me you can just beat it once and watch the other endings on Youtube, barely anything changes on NG+ and NG+2 in that game

I liked 3 but some parts were absolute BS and framerate wasn't one of them. Never did the dlcs but my problems were the later quests ESPECIALLY with Chakram an of course Branch D. I need less than 4 trophy for plat ^-^

Those are really bad, the game just forces you to play as characters with anti-fun weapons and movesets. Iirc Two's DLC has one unique boss but that's about it, everything else is rehashed and the stories are not really important
