I never get tired of Super Mario 64, but Yoshi's Island got old for me very quick in a hurry, and i didn't like it.
Yoshi's Island is so cheap: so many cheap enemy placements and bad level designs, just frustrating egg shots and i was not having fun especially towards the end.
I just don't like Yoshi's Island, and I don't like Yoshi's Story either. I think Yoshi's Story is even worse.
I don't like Yoshi's Island for being too hard for the wrong reasons, and I don't like Yoshi's Story for being too easy for the wrong reasons.
IDK maybe I just don't like Yoshi or Yoshi's games.
I think Yoshi's fine as a character, it's not him personally, but it's just Yoshi's games are bad, and that's why Nintendo didn't make a lot of Yoshi-centered games.

Yoshis island is the best platformer, every other platformer is "is it like yoshis islsnd, if not, fuck off". Yoshis story is the warios woods of disappointment.

I think Yoshi's Island gets by a lot on it's music and artstyle and people playing it as kids but I agree the platforming just doesn't feel good. The flutter jump alone just isn't as satisfying or precise as a simple pressure-sensitive upwards jump or double jump to me. It's a cute experience but it doesn't rank highly for me at all as an enjoyable platformer.

The best Yoshi game is Tetris Attack. It's not even close. Yoshi's Cookie is fine as well. I have not played Yoshi (the game) and do not care to.
