>hitman contractsagent 47 gets shot and gets flashbacks. the artstyle is darker and every level takes place in a rainy night. the soundtrack has industrial influences. the highlight is the Meat King's Party, a BDSM party host to a grizzly crime scene and a club banger.
>serial experiments lainyeah yeah the anime and PS1 game are sadboi shit but it applies. the PS1 story has grizzly murders, a suicide Dead would be proud of, implied incest, an abusive single mother and animal snuff. the rest of the story is good too, very visceral tragedy of teenage angst. if you liked Elephant or especially Zero Day check it out.
>messiahdig the blurb on the box. the victims of dystopian excess are "sinners" and act as your armor you can throw away as you please. a highlight is when you throw one of your victims off a ledge. it breaks their kneecaps, leaving them writhing on the floor screaming in pain. the game ends with God actually being Satan. when you kill the devil the world ends, leaving the cherub calling out to no avail. the advertising also pissed off religious groups at the time.
>>11885240>dreamwebthinly veiled serial killer hunts down degenerates by the command of the voices in his head. or are they? yeah the ending is a cop out but its a cool game.
>>11883445i'd argue setting a chapter in kosovo a year after the war ended (the game was developed as it was happening) is even edgier. rogue spear did the same.
>>11881803i disagree with manhunt being edgier. in manhunt youre killing other bad people but in rapelay youre making an innocent family suffer. the most haunting thing to me are those promo renders of the family smiling. why someone can see that and think of hurting them instead of giving them a hug is beyond me. what makes something "edgy" is subjective and this is a good reason why.
well at least theres an ending of the prison bitch candidate getting the Paul Kersey treatment so at least something good came out of it.
