Earthbound
Romancing SaGa 2
Romancing SaGa 3
Lufia II
Breath of Fire 2
Live A Live
Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest VI
Shin Megami Tensei
Shin Megami Tensei 2

That's what I'd say for pure, non-action, RPGs. If you want action RPGs you can add stuff like Secret of Mana/Evermore, Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, etc.

I was going with games that were originally made for SNES. Otherwise yeah, Dragon Quest III would be a good addition.

And obviously the generic mages do exist in that world; you can have conversations with plenty of them. Same with the chocobo. It says kweh or wark or whatever. It smells like a chocobo. It's right there, in the game. I don't know why it's on the box, but it's in the game.

That's 14. I seriously don't know what to pick for the last spot. I suppose Fire Emblem 4 might work.
