Ballmice fucking sucked, and I'm not a competitive Quake player, so I don't care if my wireless mice have 1ms more input delay than wired.
I haven't used a wired mouse in like 16-17 years and it's great, I haven't used a ballmouse in over 20 and that's even better. Zoomers aren't missing out on anything from those.
