I've never seen anyone discuss Dancing Stage Mario Mix. Is this actually a good rhythm game or just license slop like Donkey Konga?

It's song list is full of public domain music, including fucking Twinkle Twinkle Little Star of all things. Nintendo of all people who even back when this game came out had access and rights to thousands of popular videogame music tracks just filled it with public domain songs! They pulled this same shit with Wii Music.

Pretty much the only notable thing about it is that it's the only Nintendo game I am aware of where Waluigi is the main villain.

It's actually a decent way to learn how to get the hang of the basics of DDR if you aren't already decent at it. I went from not even being able to play the easiest of DDR songs to being able to handle pretty much anything on normal difficulty once I was finished. Outside of that it doesn't really have anything to offer, most of the songs suck and are public domain. I think one of the songs was the college graduation song lmao and it has like Beethoven and shit. Not sure why they didn't go all in on Nintendo music, Donkey Konga has a better lineup and that's already pretty shit.

Its a decent entryway into DDR, but if you already play it or rhythm games in general then you'll get bored pretty fast. DDR is already an easier rhythm game to get into and this is pretty much DDR for babies.
