>>11887412 (OP)Honestly I think the 7th gen version probably isn't even worth playing at all. They put more effort into that one allegedly but they were also trying to change the core identity of the franchise with that game. Meanwhile the 6th gen version is largely more of the same yet again just with a bit more gimmicks. The biggest one not really feeling like it was all that special or even worked right imo. You have to please both the JBS and NSA. Too far in one direction and then they force you to go to a PC to check in to see if you are still on their side and not going rogue. On paper it seemed cool but the execution was crap really. Then you realize the story revolved around this and DA as a game is kind of a mess for either version.
Overall though I still found the game to be fine. Its a good SC overall and is at least light years better than the crap they made after that (Conviction). People say Blacklist is good but I highly doubt that. I never like what I see when I try to wrap my mind around playing it. The game just does not feel or look too SC to me so I would rather not even bother.
Going back on the 7th gen version, as I said they tried way too hard to alter the franchise with this game but it does at least still feel in spirit at least like the previous games gameplay wise. Just think of it as an even further departure compared to the 6th gen version but yet not quite as far as Conviction. The stealth is done through a shitty meter on his back rather than what 1-3 and 6th gen DA did giving you proper meters.
Also if you care my rankings for the games:
CT > 1 > PT > gen 6 DA > gen 7 DA
And the rest of the franchise largely does not matter. I put gen 6 DA below 1 and PT despite it being basically like CT in gameplay feel because the story is kind of depressing both in the game and what the series becomes after this. Even with this game you can feel the desperation of trying to reinvent this franchise rather than continue simply making cool SC games.
