Friend recommended me this. I never gave a FromSoft game a proper try as I don't care too much for fantasy settings like Dark Souls, but this made me fucking hooked with mecha-stat autism and world-building through simple emails. I'm halfway through (49% progress?) and I want to do an immediate replay with different build approaches soon.
Post your mechs, favorite parts, favorite missions (I love the Murakumo mission with the cute retard robots!), shittalk, etc. Opinions on savescumming?
Well done OP, you might be the first person I've seen on here in years whose actually posted enthusiastically about this game and has had it click for them, too many moaning wimpy fuckers who complain about controls or how it doesn't have instant 180 degree turns.
Going to dig out my contribution to an old AC general on /m/.
Handful of Ranker Maker opponents I made on MOA.
Not a huge fan of those games but my favorite mission is that creepy one in some abandoned factory with no music

Found it
It's an okay series, but only if you're on a deserted island with nothing better to do
>>11887942 (OP)>Classic quad buildNice. I used to run that for all the old games, but sadly for 4 and onwards its function as a circle strafer is replaced with various other strangeness.
>>11887942 (OP)I only played AC6 but I do want to play the older games eventually. They look a lot slower pace and more tanky but still sure they are great.
>>11888074never really had a control problem except for the stunlock causing an already slow rotate to be interrupted. shit gets old when you're trying to track multiple targets
but the weight limitations could use better wiggle room, both for legs and torso. Way too easy to hit overweight in vanilla.
For those who are absolutely incapable of playing with default controls or setting up their own control scheme:
Up = Move Forward
Down = Move Backward
Left = Look Left
Right = Look Right
Square = Melee
Cross = Weapon Change
Triangle = Look Up
Circle = Look Down
L1 = Boost
L2 = Move Left
R1 = Main Weapon
R2 = Move Right
You don't need analogue.
>>11889972>my favorite mission is that creepy one in some abandoned factory with no musicthat's like half or more of the levels
>>11892171This one is specifically a maze with an echoey PA system repeating numbers infinitely.
Holy shit Nine-Ball is kicking my fucking ass, but damn heโs so cool
>>11892189First half of the final mission is one of my favourite videogame experiences, I wish they could have made it longer because I like the theme of a gauntlet in which groups of enemies are waiting for you behind massive closed doors. I never used Plus so tanking hits while eliminating everything with the grenade launcher felt great.
Enjoy OP, it's a great time. You're making me feel due for a replay. Managed to dig up a pic of my AC, like 50% of my playtime was on the emblem editor.
Save scumming is for faggots
Armored Core fucking rules
>>11887942 (OP)there's no need to replay an armored core game right away because you can just play the "standalone DLC" sequels from the same generation
armored core -> project phantasma -> master of arena
ac 2 -> ac Another Age
ac 3 -> ac3 silent line
ac nexus -> ac last raven
