Panzer Dragoon Thread

Why does no one talk about this series? If they do it's solely about how expensive Saga is or how godawful the remake was. Anyway how do I git gud at PD1? Feel like I have no idea how to manage the camera properly during levels.

>Why does no one talk about this series?
It gets talked about the right amount around here. I've started a few threads over the years myself.

Rail shooters like this always a bt weird to play. I already noticed this as a child when playing Afterburner 2. You are pretty much always just flailing around hoping the enemy doesn't hit you. Cabal shooters play a bit better because you are more stationary there I think.

Spam normal shots nonstop instead of using the lock on beam

Plus you can aim independtly of your character movement.
In Afterburner or Panzer Dragoon you always have to aim while moving your character at the same time, which feels a bit awkward.

A better example would be starfox, where you're flying but can do a number of maneuvers to dodge, such as U turns or turning the ship vertical with L and R, as well as adjusting speed.
Panzer Dragoon is not as polished in that regard, most of the dodging isn't subtle, you just do drastic movements in hopes of dodging attacks. The best strategy, however, is hit everything... That's it, don't let any shot touch you. It involves mashing the button a lot and tilt the dpad a lot so that you cover as much spots as possible.
Zwei is a better designer game but PD1 is pretty kino too

Nobody played it back then, just a few faggots and that's it.

The later part of stage 3 is hard yeah. Memorize and practice, you can do it anon.
The one part of PD1 I still don't get how to do is how to avoid getting damage on stage 5 boss
