Adam was so cool. Skate was a downgrade in the sequels, lame.

They probably traded him out because he'd just be too similar to Axel compared to someone speedy like Skate or mega buff like Max. I enjoy Adam and Blaze in the 4th game the most.

Standard beat'em up design: you want a slow heavy guy, a fast light guy, and a balanced guy. Adam was supposed to be the slow guy but in SoR1 there isn't really much of a difference, and visually he looks the same size as Axel, so the devs probably felt that he was a bit redundant for the sequels.

No, Blaze's punches and grapple kicks do less damage than the other two. And no, Adam is actually very good because of his jump kick. He's great at safely killing Mr X and many mobs. You do have to be careful on firebreathing boss due to slow walking speed, though. There's an easy way to cheese him by just grabbing him off screen when he spawns and quickly killing him with grab-kick-kick-cancel-grab-kick-kick-cancel etc

Otherwise, there's really not a situation where his slow walking speed really hurts anything and he's gg at everything else.

Adam has the biggest reach in the game, and some beneficial hitboxes, watch OP's webm and you'll see one of the enemies trying to punch Adam but doing nothing. If that was Blaze, you would've been hit by a smooth criminal.

TECHNICALLY the stats in the player selection are a bit nonsensical, and technically Blaze is the OP choice for her speed, but she's also the most fragile so you need to be skilled to use her. Although arguably, that extra speed also means better vertical dodging for certain enemies. But Adam has its uses. For me, Axel sits in the middle of nowhere in utility. I prefer him in 2 and 3, even though he's not the OP choice in those games either.

He's extremely good in the fanmade remake.

Don't know how he does in the new one.

Real reason I'm posting though is that I thoroughly enjoyed Skate and his shenanigans in 2 and 3. He has a really fun playstyle. Obviously Max is THE MAN but Skate is so much more fun to play.
