Anyway play the one on Gameboy Color too. Same idea but you don't waste time with Doubles. Then stop. They're the best retro golf games.

I wanna add to the thread but my favorite game was a little outside of the retro window. I'll just take the ban if the mod doesnt like it.
It was super fun, had some great character designs, comfy courses, and a surprising amount of depth. I played it an absolute ton while watching/spending time with my great grandma before she passed (mostly when she'd fall asleep while reading or in the middle of her stories). Come to think of it, I really haven't played it since. I really should. Used to watch Golf with her as well towards the end.
I also really need to play Pangya as anons swear on that one.
More so strictly on retro, anything Camelot developed is really good, Mobile Golf (gbc) and Mario Golf (gbc) being a lot of peoples favorites. The former was never released outside of japan but its pretty easy to find a translated rom.

I’ll never understand why they dropped the RPG aspect, leveling up, training, and exploring around for little secrets gave it so much more charm than any other golf game. Didn't know there was a vita emulator. Hope it's solid for you. It doesn't shake the formula up too much and just adds a bunch of depth to the core mechanics. It's fun enough to just sit down and play or you can really sink some time into gitting gud. Sadly there were some fun characters cut in the eng version
