>>11895993Aria is a completely different formula, it's even different in this regard compared to Symphony, which it's partially derived from. Aria doesn't just put what would normally be subweapons into soul attacks, but it also does that for spells and relic transformation stuff.
Aria is probably my favorite Igavania too, it's good as fuck, but I never had a problem with how the ClassicVanias handled subweapons, it was fine for the arcade action it was going for.
