How frustrating is it to know there's no real remake in sight but it's them just importing the assets and old voice lines to unreal 5 editor and publishing it once again. I hate how this could be even more cool game if there was a team who re-imagined most of the flow and mechanics.

I have yet to see nothing more than them adding a quick change camo system and that's all the improvements. Like what the fuck. There could be like ten different difficulty settings or something where some of them are casual but some of them are hardcore and require inventory management and everything happens in real time instead of pausing under water, during a boss fight or in alert phase.

Note that even the original ps2 version doesn't have any fatal flaws which take the joy out of the game or anything, except the fixed camera but they immediately added the free cam to Snake Eater 1.1 and further versions. Only some minor silliness where your camo stuff doesn't make sense or you have to change after moving two meters forward.

Who cares about all those remakes, they don't even belong on this board. But obviously that shit is just a cashgrab

Free cam sucks, areas are too big trivializing stealth, bosses too easy, prequel story is pointless as the story shifted to Raiden, too many unbalanced weapons and items, and many of the talented people left the company. What do you really want.

Why would that be frustrating? I won't be buying it, and I knew I wouldn't be buying it from the moment they showed actual footage.
The original will always be there, and I'll continue to play it whenever I want to scratch the MGS3 itch.

Adding VR Missions would be enough to get me in.
I'm fairly uninterested in the remake from what I'm seeing. It very much just seems to be the same game, with minimal frills.
I'll probably try that version at some point, but I'm not going to leap out of my chair to buy it.

The areas are bigger but the enemies also see you from a further distance. I do play the original every couple years and I do a no-mk22 and european extreme (alert = game over) challenge. I sometimes abuse the thermal goggles because I just can't see shit. No in The Fear battle where he's actually supposed to be almost invisible, but in The End you can see the footsteps on the ground but I just can't see them clearly because the camera is further away.

I would have been interested in a remake with some balancing tweaks and streamlining of the menus, but also _optional_ hardcore mode where you would have to manage all sorts of stuff almost to the point where you have to find a place for Snake to go number two and you would have an actually limited inventory which you could juggle at checkpoints or something along the road.

Iโ€™m not buying Delta. MGS3 is still kino. Theyโ€™re remaking games that were not hindered by technology or vision. They should only remake games that needed some good polishing or cinematic.

delta will enable you to enjoy this game with modern controls and that in itself is worth it. the improved graphics are an added bonus. i know someone will say ps2 jank controls are better but you know theyre just flexing their age to pull rank, no one unironically enjoys shitty controls we like these games despite of them

the only interesting thing they could do is a remake of mg/mg2.
