This one's notable because almost literally every single line is either flat out wrong or partially wrong. Where did they even get this information?

100 creators and no Eric Chahi? Also why are there people like Toriyama or Shinkawa, they are artists not game creators

It's IGN and the gaming press, and they conflate everything. Inafune was an artist and producer, but they treat him like a director and writer.

Keiichiro Toyama is not on there, despite being the director of Siren and Silent Hill 1. It's largely because Silent Hill didn't push for a "Face" of the series, and he left after the first game. I guarantee you if he'd have stayed at Konami, he'd be considred this "god father of horror games". A lot of this shit is just marketing by brain dead idiots.

Oh shit it's that guy who made a prequel to Silent Hill 2

Sakaguchi should be #2 instead of 4. Civilization and SimCity are good, but not THAT important.

To be honest neither is Final Fantasy and if we are talking popularity then most people don't even give a shit about Sakaguchi's FF games

Glad to see Kojima at #1. He invented the camera, and started IGN too

I guess. I came of age during the PSX era and think 7&8 are the best games of all times so I have bias. Will Wright and Sid Meier made some good games, but nothing outstanding imo, they seem more like cults of personality to me. I didn't know shit about Sakaguchi until 20 years after playing FF games, maybe he's a cult of personality in Japan idk.

By Sakaguchi's FF games I meant 1-5, after that he wasn't really that involved and not a lot of people still play these, most just prefer 6 and PS1/PS2 games like you

They don't define what the hell a "Creator" is and conflate level designers, producers, writers, directors, all into one.

Sak genuinely can say Final Fantasy 1-5 are his babies, but after that he moved to a producer's role, and was more of a team manager and story guide, rather than a direct creator of those games. He did a lot of good, and tard wrangled them, and set general story ideas that bared fruit. However, FF1-5 aren't the most notable and impactful, it's FF6-10 and he isn't really the "creator" of those. FF only got big after moving away from its D&D and DQ origins.
