I finished Spyro 3 recently, I liked it (not as much as 1 or 2 but still fun).
I was thinking on what to play next, I kind of want to play the Bugs Bunny duology but I also have been always curious about the first Klonoa game.

Winning Eleven 2002, it was the last football title Konami put out for the PS1 and, while I like Winning Eleven 3: Final Ver. a bit more, this is the one that gets the most modern patches for current seasons and tournaments, due to it being the last one on the console, and playing the patches is quite appealing to me. I genuinely like this better than the current eFootball, it holds up well.

i just dusted off my ps1 to play toy story 2. it's a 'just ok' platformer, but it's sum is oddly less than it's parts, if that makes sense. it controls really well, and has pretty big levels for a ps1 game, but is kind of bland overall.

From my experience, CRT image in native res looks sharper than upscaled on LCD. I'd say Wii, 6th gen and earlier are still best on CRT.
Also it's easy to find a crt with 4:3 and RGB inputs for nearly free to at least try it out with PS1. I'm getting one myself for free this weekend, too bad I don't have a PS1 though.

I'm glad they lost the rights to this shit for the JPN re-releases too

Anyway this credit themes always take me back to the first time I beat RE1. That's when I reflected upon the adventure and for the first time it hit me that video games could produce feelings other than sheer fun.

The other version sounds triumphant too, and in a more powerful way imo, plus it also has a small nostalgic vibe to it which fits when looking at images that reminisce the adventure you just went through. I also think the rythm to it (and even the changes in rythm) fit the video better, it's almost like the video was made with the music in mind while in the JPN it feels like the two are disconnected.

The PS1 version is the best version of the game by far. Was shocked with how bad the Dreamcast port was, and N64 is cut down in too many ways. The music is also really good in the later stages. Worth playing for the simple joy of being a small toy in a normal world.

Out of the two, Parasite Eve is the better game. Good setting, music, gameplay, story and it's quite short. Koudelka is a decent game with great atmosphere, but it falls apart with the combat, it's so insanely slow that drags the whole thing down imo. Still, it's not a bad game and you should definitely play it at some point, specially if you're planning on playing Shadow Hearts in the future.

You know, I decided to quickly try Koudelka just out of curiosity (mainly towards the voice acting and atmosphere), and turns out I really like it. Even the combat, so far, and the music helps a lot. The voice acting paired with the atmosphere managed to give me chills already.

I think raising the speed stat helps alleviate the slow combat

I used AI translation for that too but half the times I didn't even bother because the dialogues just go on and on and on and use a lot of words to say nothing or repeat the same thing

Gameplay is cool though, controls get getting used to because they differ depending on whether you're attacking or not, like totally different controls depending on if you're in attacking stance or not. Like imagine you Mario 64 controls but it turns into Tomb Raider during combat.

Crash 2. I've got to get around to playing Xenogears sometime too, but I probably wouldn't be playing that on original hardware.

Awesome soundtrack but the floaty physics compared to what destruction derby (especially 2) did years earlier does feel like pitbull missed a beat. Then again they did the same for TD4 so I dunno.

Nta but g-police rocks. The PC port is arguably better but requires some fiddling to get working on modern windows. Weapons of just isn't as good imo.

I finished Koudelka. It was short and sweet, taking only about 10 hours. Really cool game. I think the criticism about combat is a bit overexaggerated, or people just distributed their stats poorly. I ended up OP and ending fights within the first round. It wasn't worse than let's say final fantasies on PS1.
The story, atmosphere, voice acting were great in that charming B movie way. Actually voice actors really shined in some parts, like the drunken conversation before the final segment. Character animations too. Surprisingly good for a PS1 game.

Next I'll take a look at Parasite Eve.

I recently played and finished Overblood 2 for the first time. It is an extremely interesting game. The overly long (and unskippable) cutscenes were really annoying and some parts of it were pretty cryptic and frustrating. But I still enjoyed it. Not a bad game at all.

It was heavily inspired by FFVII for sure. But it's really not a bad game. I would like it even more if the cutscenes weren't Metal Gear levels of long or at least skipable.
