That's definitely what they're shooting for, particularly Saga, but since that's considered THE holy grail of the PD series I doubt they'd want to touch it and be reminded of their failure since it was a massive flop.

AoE2:DE is pretty good, but even then some people think the campaigns got worse art and voices. Duck Tales Remastered was good but that was a while ago. Devil Blade reboot was great but let's be real no one ever played the original game. Lastly, I haven't played them but people seem to like the Natsume remakes like Pocky & Rocky, Wild Guns, Ninja Saviors and Shadow of the Ninja

Saga had the source lost and the game is like a weekend of content plus half an hour of grainy pixelated FMVs. Remaking the FMVs would be a nonsensical amount of work.

Orta doesn't need to be remade, just do a straight port of it, shit looks like a xbox 360 game once you bump up the resolution.

It's literally the original game running in an emulator with an optional graphics overlay. It's hard not to fuck that up, but as we've seen with Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver's remasters it can still happen.

I wish Sega didn't hire clearly subpar dev studios to make their remakes (the House of the Dead ones are atrocious) and instead built a team with at least some of the original developers, but doing the former most likely is way cheaper than the latter and alas whoever is in charge wants to produce cheap cashgrabs.

So best case scenarios given the circumstances...
A) Zwei's and the following remakes somehow sell enough to convince Sega to produce a higher budget proper new game for the series, bringing back Yukio Futatsugi etc.
B) The MegaPixel Studio staff finally learns how to make a remake with a visual style that is aesthetically faithful to the original and doesn't bring new flaws.
C) It sells like absolute shit and whoever is in charge at Sega gets tenderly told to fuck off, and his replacement does a better job.
