How many mortal kombat threads do you need in a slow board?

Why are there so many bait-y MK threads lately? Someone trying to make people shit on the franchise?
Anyway, MK1 and 2 were cool.
By 3, other western games like KI and Primal Rage offered better post-apoc cyber demonic late 90s vibe than 3.
Ultimate felt like a romhack and the devs pussying out about the backlash for getting rid of Scorpion.
Rare never made Cinder return in KI2/Gold, they stuck with their stance and that's more respectable.

MK was based on movies, primarily three. Enter the Dragon, Bloodsport,band Big Trouble in Little China. This is all martial arts craze era kino.

SF is the BK kids culture club with a couple anime rip offs and Tekken is.... well, nonsensical. So of course.

Bloodsport is basically 80s Enter the Dragon, both are equally great as films of their era IMO though Bruce is funner to watch in action obviously. Big Trouble in Little China is more of a comedy fantasy adventure as well as martial arts but it's also pure kino and you'll immediately understand where Raiden and Shang Tsung come from when you watch it

I also have a hunch it's where they got the idea for Goro, as far as the big bad having some big monster henchmen waiting in a dungeon
