Dino Crisis 1 has a huge focus on puzzle solving and getting keys to do more puzzle solving and getting more keys. If you like puzzle solving or are in the mood for a game that requires you to carry a notepad without going pants on head retarded like the King's Quest series, Dino Crisis 1 is great.
Then Dino Crisis 2 completely change everything, is pure action game with a score system that allows you to buy bigger and more powerful weapons even if you don't need them 99% of the game.
Here is where the fanbase got splitted, Dino Crisis 1 fans hated 2, and for the most part 2 fans don't really care about 1. And on a rare occasion, there's the guy who actually likes video games who enjoys both for what they are. That used to be the status quo of the series, but in recent years, with Youtube players and 2025 fucked up attention spans, people started to hate 1 because it obviously is a slow game that lacks QoL that today we take for granted, like yellow paint or like the rooms names in the in-game map, frequently the game will tell you to go to a specific room but because the map is kinda big and is composed mostly of offices and labs is hard to remember by yourself which room is which. Also has a ton of documents with clues and puzzles, and while not a single one goes into moon logic, they are way harder than the ones you find in classic RE games.
Anyhow, people wanting a DC1 remake makes sense, the game will be more enjoyable with better graphics (obviously hoping for Regina's glorious ass), QoL, putting a classic SH puzzle difficulty selection and giving us more dinosaurs (with a toggle for faggy feathers for the fags that want science accurate dinos). For 2 they don't need to do that much, maybe make the game longer and rebalance the weapons.
In any case, if you're willing to give 1 a chance, try it, just remember your notepad.
