Should I play the GameCube or Wii version?

Gamecube is the correct way. Wii does have an extra item slot or two in the UI though.

I honestly never played Twilight Princess. After Wind Waker was so easy and dull, I just checked out of these games and moved on to other stuff. I assume this game is just more of the same, like Ocarina of Time just with less weight, again.

Wii if you want the real launch experience.
pretty much everyone who was hyped for the game picked it up for the wii since they delibertly delayed the gamecube version to make it a timed wii exclusive.
technically the wii version is mirrored but depending on which version you play the other one will feel mirrored to you.

either/or really, they're pretty much the same game except they reversed the map for the wii version and >>12135321. the motion controls don't add much except being able to cut grass while moving and they don't detract much either, they're pretty simple compared to skyward sword.

The only reason to play Wii U is Hero Mode. Which is mirrored anyway...
I don't like any of the Zelda remasters/remakes though. The only necessary one was Four Swords.

Any version is fine honestly. GC and Wii are literally the same game with different controls, and HD's improvements are pretty much negligible.

Link's animation in this game is fucked up and you have to see it yourself.

I want to say it has something to do with being built on the same engine as Wind Waker and the way that game handled animation doesn't work with characters proportioned like this game's.

Which version runs better on Dolphin? Performance is at a premium here.

This. The Wii version and Nintendo's weird-ass decision to mirror the camera so that Link is right-handed to match the right-handed people playing the game permanently ruined Link. They never switched back, and to this day, even in stuff like BoTW, he's still right-handed.

gamecube hands down. I liked the WiiU version when it released (still a good way to play) but it really does look like shit compared to the gamecube ver. even with the higher resolution.
the lack of an extra item slot didn't really impact the game much outside of the second temple.

Anyone recommend the switch version?

Though there *is* a Switch version of The Wind Waker thanks to GameCube Classics, which probably means the Wii U version will be memory-holed. Almost better if it had Tingle Tuner support.

If original hardware, the Wii version is much easier to get. Otherwise GC has camera control. Game still sucks whatever the system.

TP is a game that's painfully bloated with nonsense, that's on top of everything wrong with OoT in the first place. Still, they allow you to skip cutscenes this time around, thank god for that.

I replay this game on a cube emu about once every 4 years.

Imho, of the Legend of Zelda game series, it is the best one at being a LoZ game. Link's Awakening set a template that works really well and was followed in OoT, MM, Oracles, Minish Chap, WW, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Toilet Princess, and Skyward turd.

Of these, TP(cube) is by far the most polished and the best looking, but without any stupid gimmicks, like the PiiMote.

If I wanna open roam, I play Skyrim.
If I wanna be challenged, I'd play Dark Souls
If I wanted weird gimmicks, I'd buy a VR set.
If I want to play Legend of Zelda, I play Twilight Princess.
