What are some more games like this?
I beat Halo CE for the first time yesterday, I decided to boot up the game 3 days ago after having it in my backlog for decades. I've played Halo games since I was a kid, but aside from Reach never beat any of the campaigns and mostly spent time in Multiplayer.
But I absolutely had a blast with this. The thing that made me keep coming back was how fun and arcadey the game is. You can easily just hop back in at any time and get sucked into the combat loop and story. With modern games I feel like there's too much bloat in between gameplay, but this is just so sharp and to the point.
What are some other games from around the time like this? They don't necessarily have to be shooters, though it would be prefered, but I'd like to play more stuff with this design philosophy in mind that balances the having an engaging story with fun short gameplay sessions. Metal Gear Solid had a similar feeling for me too.
