It's actually the best version of MK4. But unfortunately it's a launch title for the Dreamcast and it was pretty much outdated by then, since Soul Calibur outshines it.

SC was never good. MK4 was never really good either, but SC is peak SEGA/Dreamcast cope(LOOK we got a fighter of our own!).

Wrong. Gold is very buggy and broken. New additions clash with original MK4 aesthetics too much.

I disagree. Soul Calibur was a great fighting game and had great graphics that rivals the Arcade version. It was truly a must own for the Dreamcast. It also spawned sequels, which led me to owning the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2 thanks to Link's exclusive appearance. I then bought Soul Calibur 2 digitally and finally got to play as Spawn. Well worth it. As far as fighting games go, the best version of Dead Or Alive 2 is on the Dreamcast.
