Still working on the Playable Girl mod, adjusted Harvestmen so the game over scene is different if you're playing as the girl and the cutscene where the harvestman kidnaps the girl results in a battle instead if you're playing as the girl.

I'm not an RPGmaker expert, but I heard this game was very unoptimized. Something I noticed while messing around with the code is that for the purposes of upgrading Moonless's bite attack, the game checks how many times Moonless has marked her territory every 40 frames since it is a parallel common event. I think it will be more efficient if instead of doing this, the common event is called up only after there is an incident of Moonless marking her territory. I dunno if it will make much of a difference but hopefully it will help a little.

I don't intend to have the weird sexual shit in it, but the plan I had in mind would be that each character would be his own class with a somewhat detailed system for the purposes of combat/conflict resolution in the overworld in he cases of a specific class.
Fiddling with the code to try to make it so you can use party talk with a quick key (I was thinking of assigning it to P) instead of having to open the menu, go to skills, select the talk skill, and then use it on a party member.

Regarding limb loss, I am not sure. Part of me hates how often that shit happens and how badly it can affect you. Harvesting the limbs of an enemy would be too easy, and the ritual circle shit in termina is way too limited.

Added the ability for counter-magic to uncurse rings. I took the idea from the Reign of New Gods mod, but I'm too much of a codelet to understand how they coded their version of the counter-magic rework so I just made my own version of it. My version makes them normal accessories that can be taken on and off freely.

Saving does pass the time (you have a limited amount of saves) but if all enemies are dead in an area you don't have to deal with coinflip bullshit. There's a moment in the beginning that's a bit of a fakeout where you'll think your character is permanently losing limbs, but it's all a dream.
The clunkiest part I remember is the skip you can do to avoid fighting the furry OC by opening the map every single time you step forward. Other than that the clunkiness felt like it was in the players favor most of the time as I skipped the crucifixion game over by holding left the entire time it was going on, entering the building next to it, using an Alll-Mer skin bible to exit the area, and then using a Sylvian circle to reset my character's state.
The character Olivia embodies the spirit of the original by making you play a disabled character that actually disables elements of the game at times (getting knocked off your wheelchair prevents you from taking certain actions in battle).
You can also die in O'saa's extended character intro, which is lol.
Tl;DR: Better than the original in every aspect besides the grittiness, but with the ending of the original it makes sense for it to be like that.

I managed to get my normalfag friend into this game, he enjoys it because he likes survival horror. He even made it pretty far on his first go around because he doesn't play jrpgs so he avoided combat whenever possible.

Small quality of life modification.
When using a consumable on yourself you can normally use it on yourself as many times as you want as long as you have more of the item in your inventory. Consuming the ale is an example of this. However, some items will instead exit out of the menu when you consume them which is annoying if you want to consume multiple items. Consuming the blue vial is an example of this. This is due to these items having common events being associated with them, when a common event is running it automatically closes the menu. Himeworks created a plugin that revolves this called Scene Interpreter...BUT...it doesn't work for RPGMaker MV which is what Fear and Hunger was made in.
HOWEVER I did find a workaround where anytime you use an item that exits the menu it automatically brings up the item menu which cuts down on the tedium a little. Consuming the egg uses this new work around. This will hopefully make feeding and healing your party a little less tedious.

Theoretically anybody could just "write some code" but I don't have the knowhow on how to do it nor do I know anyone who does and even if I did they might not want to help me based on the content of the mod. The Scene Interpreter already has the code, but it's for RGSS3 and I don't know how to convert it to work with RPGmaker MV. Despite requests, it doesn't seem like Himeworks converted it either.

The first one I don't remember where it is, but it is quite unavoidable if you come close to the Mayor's Manor. It turns on "Been_to_mayors" and this prevents Abella from appearing in the cutscene when you're opening the Tunnel 7 hatch. Doesn't get switched to true if you go there later on Day 1 Morning, doesn't affect Henryk directly. Henryk at the manor is affected by remove_henryk which is switched to tru eif you go to Tunnel 7 first and Henryk_manor which is set to false to prevent him being there on Day 1 Morning, I think.
Then for the Tunnel 7 magic tile, there's one choke point in the topmost level through which you have to normally go. If Been_to_mayors is true, this spawns Chaugnar in the Tunnels. Presumably also related to the triggre that makes Chaugnar punch into the the top level.
If you go to the bottom of Tunnel 7 through the Rher dimension, you can avoid it. This also avoids marking Abella as deceased, unlike with Henryk, who is marked as dead if he turns into the Mayor, even if you never go to Mayor's after you get Abella.
It's kind of similar to how O'saa doesn't have to interact with Pav at all, so he's auto saved, if he saves everyone on Day 1 morning. O'saa is the only one who can do that because August doesn't "help" him on Day 1 if fighting Kaiser.

And then there's steal, which is especially amazing for getting rifle ammo and bear traps early on.

Agility is used for running away via the Escape key, and that is based purely on your Agility vs enemy Agility and with 20 Agility it's literally 100% no matter how many times you escape in row.

Who do you think is gonna be the "canon" protagonist of the second game? Same way it's generally accepted that Cahara's the main dude in F&H1 what with Enki and Ragnvaldr achieving their S Endings and D'arce either going for S, B or a mix of both. For Termina, it's funny how Levi is presented as the Cahara equivalent what with him being the default selection, first character to be created for the demo, on the cover, so on and so forth yet he's so utterly irrelevant in the narrative of a game that has double the playable characters than its prequel. Meanwhile, narratively, fucking Olivia of all people is the most connected with the game's primary ending.

Since Miro's update gives the enemies dialogue to indicate that they're using their last gasp to attack you, I think I'll also add some sort of "the monster uses its dying breath to strike a final blow" notification so people see that it's an intentional mechanic. For certain monsters like the guards, I think I'll still make it an instant kill if you headshot the guard. I don't remember all the monsters that get the "last hurrah" ability, but I know skeletons were one of them so since they're undead I think their should get a last hurrah even with a headshot.

Finally finished with the revamped intro. Added a small quality of life feature where you can now return to the main menu from the character select screen. It kind of feels like the intro might be a little more wordy or longer compared to the other heroes' intros, but I can always trim it down and revise it later I guess. For now it gets the job done. Next will be tweaking the "last gasp" ability of certain enemies to continue fighting until the end of the round even when their HP has reached zero to make it more evident that it's an intentional mechanic and making it so headshots nullifies this mechanic for certain enemies.

Next is dealing with an issue with this map. This is the backalley in Mahabre. When I go there my FPS slows to an absolute crawl, does anyone else have this problem? I did some tinkering and I found out its due to all the tiles circled in red. These create a shadow effect to depict the shadows made by the buildings in the map. But each tile is its own separate event which apparently eats up a lot of resources.
An easy solution would be to simply get rid of the shadow tiles buuuuuuuuuut I feel like that would be diminishing the game. I want the mod to build upon the game by adding things to it, not taking them away (unless it's a bug of course.) A previous attempt to fix it I had was to make the shadows invisible when they're offscreen, but it didn't work. It seems to be the event themselves that cause the slowdown rather than the presense of shadows. An idea I had was to try to simply make larger shadow sprites so less of them need to be used to complete the effect. Fewer events eating up resources = less FPS slowdown? Or maybe I can get rid of the slowdown altogether this way, since the map ran just fine when I got rid of the shadow tiles.
