The more important question is: Why is OP asking this question in the first place ?

Technically every game is an RPG. When you play Resident Evil 2 you are playing the role of a young adult in a zombie outbreak. When you play Madden you are playing the role of a football player or coach.

Roleplaying in a game isn't an RPG. It's a compound word.

RPG is a compound word to describe a type of game, not the activity you do within the game.

Yes.
An RPG is a Role Playing Game, not role playing in a game.
Extremely simple.

Since the other thread is a pile of /pol/shit, can someone recommend me a good noob-friendly gameplay balance improving hack for FFT? I've just tried 1.3 easy mode and I'm already stuck on Sweegy Woods of all things. It's my first time playing FFT.

Just play the vanilla PSX original. You’re trying to play a sweaty tryhard mod for people who have broken the game and played it for 2,000 hours, as a brand new player, for some reason.
also practice good save hygiene and keep multiple saves, lest you be locked into a chain of multiple battles you can’t win and get soft locked

I got tricked by the disclaimer of the easy mode version. Guess it's only just barely easy enough to double the intended playerbase from 1% to 2% of the veterans.

I had hoped this game has a well designed overhaul mod like FF6's BNW. Oh well, guess I'm gonna play the probably broken original after all.

I liked it as a kid, beat it at least twice. I dunno if I could play it now. Maybe with sped up emulation.

Only one spot in particular I recall being difficult enough to maybe get people softlocked. Funny thing is I never had trouble with that battle, even my first time though. I did tend to grind a lot though. I remember I got dual-wielding ninjas before the first 5 maps or so ended. I grinded on Mandalia Plains or whatever that first field was called.

just play Tactics Ogre with archers. the original SNES one. not the grinding hell remakes.

play the hell's palace levels if you want more hardness.
