How can I, as a deep pool of RPG wisdom, pour my knowledge into you, a child's cup? You simply can't contain it yet. Grow yourself. Level up. Then return and ponder.

All games are good, all games are bad.

It is depending of what you want of an rpg.
If you are looking for an story heavy character development driven RPG then no.
Game is all about atmosphere, philosophy and dungeon crawlan.
No chatty hero, no power of friendship, no hours of exposition.
Its "do this dungeon, recruit and fuse demons, go to the next dungeon" heavy.

Wrong. What does matter is rather you attack from the front of back, which is retarded. However how far you can move and using enemy skills to manipulate that and the opponent and vice versa is a very important part of it.

Surely you aren't fucking stupid enough to think it only counts if back attack do more damage, right?

Nocturne is good for a PS2 JRPG. If you want a good place to get into SMT though, I suggest 4 if you can find a ROM and get a 3DS emulator working. SMT 4 is my personal favorite atlus game, interesting story and setting, lots of demons so you'll learn how to fuse pretty easy, and the protag isn't good for nothing like in old megaten.

SMT games being these epic hard rpgs is a meme passed around by people who've never played the games but know of the matador fight in 3. SMT usually has reverse difficulty curves. With a difficult beginning, easy mid game, and laughable end game. It's only really hard in the beginning when your skills, demons, and general options are limited.

If OP has never played one before, it'll likely be a challenge.

I can believe that. I recently finished 4 and realized I hit basically a complete team and build less than half way through. At the point I was just fusing for the sake of higher levels and transferring the same skills over and over for the rest of the game. Only time I added any new ones to the mix were when I finally got access to the 'karns and alignment almighty spells. I was really disappointed with the game all around though desu, which I know is apparently an unpopular opinion

Grinding doesn't do that much for you in nocturne relative to your average jrpg. Nocturnes really easy if you go a phys focused MC. I could see maybe finding the endgame a challenge if you went a mage though.

Pierce, focus, freikugal destroys everything.
