There is already one, as mentioned.
On a different note, I find this new trend of shitposting by pretending to be an overly hyped retard incredibly tiresome.
Were this even remotely earnest, even excessively so, I would be able to respect it even if I think the remaster will be a nothingburger.
This is just fucking pathetic, and smacks of being a joyless cunt incapable of genuine excitement.

It would be really cool if it somehow managed to ride on the coattails of BG3 and there was a strong revitalization of the community surrounding the game.
Imagine something like the NWN1 PRC being ported over for example. That would be insane.
Hell, I might try doing that myself so fucking happy I am that NWN2EE is a thing.

How the fuck are they gonna handle the multiclass characters? Or the particular Kits? I can maybe see Wiz/Rogue/Arcane Trickster for Jan working, but even Fighter/Druid is a questionable choice at best due to CL loss unless you limit it severely (thus not serving the same function), and Aerie may as well fucking kill herself, since unlike back in 2e where there was at least justification for cleric/mage in the end, no amount of Mystic Theurge (which isn't even in NWN2 by default) can salvage a Wizard/Cleric in 3.5.
There's no equivalent of Shapeshifter for Cernd either (Shifter was NWN1 only), there's no Inquisitor for Keldorn (you'd have to fuck around with PrC), there's no Berserker for Korgan (you'd need a Barbarian/Figher which, again, not quite the same purpose or flavor)...
I expect an unmitigated disaster on this front.

Looks like a really lazy rerelease to me. The "improved graphics" are nothing that can't already be done with mods, and they're not doing anything fun like restoring cut content either. So all you're getting out of the Enhanced Edition is controller support.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic here, but NWN2 had a shitload of cut content. Literally entire plotlines were chopped from the game and you can still find plenty of unused assets and even entire dialogues in the game files. Restoring that, or even just part of it, would make the Enhanced Edition worth playing even for people who already own the original game.

it's not insane, and it's not really about sex, it's about being against stroking the player's ego in any way. obsidian is full of the kind of people who disdain "gamers", as if those are a real group of people with identifiable characteristics. they are self-hating nerds who want to be "better" than their natural masculine inclinations. this is common in many nerd spaces, tabletop is rife with it.

The issue there is that it was cut so early there was barely anything left to restore, so it's essentially fanmade content and not restored content. There's two kinds of cut content.
One that was cut on purpose for the benefit of the game.
And another where content the devs intended to be in game got cut because of a lack of resources (time, money, manpower, etc).

Anonymous No.3787930 >>3787945 >>3788606
>>3787876
the second kind is also the first. with limited time and resources, the less interesting content gets cut. i've never seen any restoration in any rpg that was actually interesting or impactful. people just like the idea of restoration and hidden content, but more is not better. nwn2 in particular is already bloated enough, what they should really do is cut stuff like the orc caves.

You forget that we KNOW some of what's gotten cut because the files are still in the game, just incomplete, and it makes the game better.

For example, in the released game the rivalry between Qara and Sand seems like an extremely petty Sorcerer vs Wizard thing, and Sand turning evil at the end of the game because he hates Qara so much he'd rather side with the villain than allow her to live is completely retarded. None of it makes sense because they completely cut out Qara's backstory and the reason Sand is so afraid of her. Restoring that content would objectively improve the game because it would give them a reason to act the way they do instead of coming across as forced drama and shit writing.

I'd have more respect for RPG romances if they actually used something like NWN2's influence system and had the player WORK for the romance. But even then the players would game the system by b-b, b-b dialogue trees for the +1 influence instead of hiding this stat even in the data files from miners finding it.

Not strictly true. Undead are kind of a minority in the game in total, it's just the last chapter that you're actually fighting the king of shadows directly when you have to deal with them.
The actual real reason to be a rogue has nothing to do with sneak attack. It's because you need to deal with locks and traps (except that the traps in the original game were pathetic, so a better solution to making rogues important would be to make the traps deadly). They also have use magic device as a class skill which means they can whip wands for healing just like any priest, so you don't need to waste a party slot on the cleric or druid if you don't feel like it.

Did we play the same game? Even in the first act there are a bunch of locations and quests that are optional. Lizard cave is optional, the whole Fort Locke investigation and bandit camp are optional, 90% of the Maiden's Glade is skippable (you can walk right to the exit), Highcliff Ruins and the Lizardfolk den are optional depending on which choices you make, once you get to Neverwinter the Skymirror and the Ironfist Scouts and Khelgar's whole questline are completely optional. Something like 80% of the preparation for the trial in the second act is optional. Entire questlines and locations in the second and third acts are optional.

>I would reather have henchmen crap than these absolutely retarded ass ai party members that have to be babysat like literal retards because the ai doesn't even know they shouldn't be sitting in their own fire wall
You'd rather have henchmen that behave exactly the same but worse, because you can't control them or even adjust their equipment? There are a bunch of AI settings you can adjust and if you don't want to control party members in a party-based system that's on you. It's not like the first game is better, with Linu casting Harm on vampires because the AI is unable to differentiate undead.

You are not wise just because you think everyone else admires mindless obedience to tradition and shallow performances of physical strength. Being able to lift heavy things is not an important quality about a person, and it's definitely not a worthy life goal.

You remind me a lot of a common analysis of fascism: it's an empty ideology based on nothing but an aesthetic style. It's the appearance of being strong without any kind of substantial strength or coherent consistency underneath it to make it real. That's what you sound like - you're admiring the strength stat and trying to disguise that by claiming it's foolish to do anything other optimize his stats.

That's not what a friend would do. At all. And it is indeed foolish to confuse numbers on a character sheet with the person's happiness. Show me on his sheet where his desire to be a monk being his driving ambition in life is recorded. Where? Under the feats tab? What is the bonus it gives?

That's foolish. Thinking your video game optimization is wisdom.

You are a fool. And not a good friend. You are one of his abusers, you're just like the other people who ruined his life and poisoned his faith in himself.

strength is found in overcoming your petty desires and striving for a duty that extends beyond yourself, using your natural gifts to the best of your ability to help your fellows and uplift those you love. you call it obedience, the chains of circumstance and fate, thinking it's a dog's calling, but what you tend towards is enslavement to your own petty desires and pipe dreams. this isn't self-actualization, it's just selfishness, which is why you label those who care about you as abusers.

Khelgar has no duty for a clan that cast him out. Especially not when that duty was based on a falsehood in the first place. If you insist he protect the clan, he's already doing that by defeating the King of Shadows - the reason he's going back to his clanhold and defeating fire giants is to persuade them to help in the fight. And the only way they would is if he became basically king by lifting the hammer. It literally isn't anyone's desire that he become king. If you make him do it, he only does it because you tell him to, in order to secure the dwarf soldiers for your cause. Again, it is not his duty. At all.
It's not enslavement to anything to do what will complete your life and make you happy. That isn't somehow a wrong thing to do just because you'd end up happier. That's something your pastor has told you and you believed him because you're too young to know any better.

No one older than me writes runon and incomplete sentences without even capitalizing the first letter by reflex. You are underage and it shows. Stupid little boy. You've got a lot of growing up to do, and it's not gonna be automatic.

So it's not like we're surprised to see you projecting your ultra-conservative sheltered religious stigmas and internalized anxiety in completely unprompted fantasies about what you believe everyone else must be feeling. We don't feel that. You're the one who's feeling it. We're living liberated and happy lives. We don't hide who we are. You do that. It's not normal to hide who you are. Just so you know. I believe so. In a party of (sometimes literal) nutcases, his biggest problem is that he's the most boring man alive, which isn't so bad when he's contrasted with Bishop, the edgiest man alive. They even fake you out when he's first introduced with telling you about his supposed battle-rages, but it never really comes up, so if you spend the game waiting for him to reveal some deep revelation or betray you it just doesn't happen. He does have some personal issues but he doesn't need you to deal with them for him, at the end of the day he's just a straightforward guy, boring, loyal, who wants to do what's right and who is happy to fight alongside you without you having to solve any huge personal problems and without any mental derangements. CHA bard is only good for tanking and buffing/debuffing, though Song of Requiem allows you to passively deal a lot of damage to a solo target. Just make a generic melee human bard, they get a lot of skill points anyway.
