Fallout 3's Dogmeat with the appropriate perks.
A seemingly invincible dog that I can use as a meat shield, will help me scavenge, will be by my side and that will let another one spawn in a couple of days of he falls in a pit of lava and dies would be great for these upcoming times. Too bad about the bugs, though.
