RIFTS: Promise of Power is getting remade. This was an old N-Gage CRPG from 2005 that was reviewed well and has a tiny cult following but was nearly impossible to play because the Ngage smartphone platform was discontinued 1 month after this game came out.

Anyone around here ever play this lost little gem?

I didn't know a CRPG ever existed but I played the TT a bit, I remember that book cover from it.
Pretty nice pixel art I must say.
RIFTS was impressive at the time for ridiculous beyond superhero world smashing scale for the characters you rolled. Don't remember much of it but I do remember that. It even made Final Fantasy look like a low magic setting.

Good find. I'm kinda a nut when it comes to pre ios and android mobile crpg's, but I never heard of this one. Ngage seemed to have have less rpg's in general compared to pocketpc, Palm, brew, and even j2me if euro.

Yeah, not keen on the ai slop upscaling, but the company doing the reforge is known for AI in localization and translation and QA work, so they'll probably use it for this game too. Sad.

I'd rather have a Shadowkey remake, the game is prety good for what it is.

Hopefully it sells a bit so someone competent, not Owlcat, tries to make a real Rifts CRPG.

I used to play table top Rifts years and years ago, I never knew they made a video game version of it. I would definitely be interested if a remake came out though.

thing with rifts has always been the fact your game is totally different depending on WHERE it's taking place

This Rifts game has locations around Chi-Town, Lazlo, New German Republic and, oddly, Scotland and Yama-King China. Oddly because the latter two locations had not been described in the Rifts setting at the time the video game came out, so the developers just made up stuff on the spot.
